Description

I've had this V3 GSM phone for about a year with Cingular service. Very good cellular coverage. I was surprised when my phone rang in Costa Rica --- I didn't really expect to get calls there. Phone works well --- but don't get it wet! Beneath the battery is a little white dot that changes color if the phone does get wet, so your store won't have to give you a replacement. I find while the store always says "no", the service provider who gets a fat payment every month usually says "yes". The Cingular service rep gave me a new phone free, but I still had to pay sales tax on the full retail price, which came out to about $25. The camera is pretty respectable for a cell-phone, 640x480 pixels. Also has video-cam capability. There is nice software to link with your PC, but it is NOT included with your phone. It seems Cingular would rather you transmit your photos over their network at a fee. Retail price is about $30 --- but I found a copy on ebay for $5. The speaker-phone also works well. The slim, light-weight design is so nice, that I'm always frisking myself to be sure it's on my person.

I have always liked Motorola. The first Razr had many problems, many worked out within the first 6 months. It is a reliable phone, easy to navigate with many features. Quad band allows international travel, bluetooth, voice dialing all make life better. It is durable but I have seen a few where it breaks at the hindge (where it flips from). There is also a ribbon cable to the screen that seems to break over time leaving a working phone and a black screen. These phones are popular, and sell like crazy. Not many come in with problems. Would I buy this phone? YES P.S. look at the new V3xx Razr for more internet/multimedia features.

Small, flat size makes it comfortable in pockets. Good speaker-phone. 640x480 pixel camera. Often need to go to the manual to figure out how to use some features. PC USB interface via Motorola Phone Tools is NOT included with the phone from Cingular.
