Digital Chocolate Launches Pyramid BloxxTM to Rave Reviews

SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Digital Chocolate, Inc., a leading publisher of high-quality, original games and software for mobile phones, announced today the release of Pyramid Bloxx^TM, the follow-up to its 2005 break-out hit, Tower Bloxx™. Building on its own merits, Pyramid Bloxx scored an 8.9 out of 10 on IGN Wireless earlier this month, additionally earning an Editor’s Choice Award.

Its predecessor, Tower Bloxx, already has sold more than one million units to date and is among the mobile gaming industry’s most decorated games. Pyramid Bloxx is set in ancient Egypt and features two modes of game play – Empire and Quick Game. As “pharaoh of the nation” in Empire Mode, players are tasked with retrieving blocks from the mines to build pyramids, forming an empire. As players progress through the levels, they can retrieve more valuable blocks to build larger pyramids, and earn power-ups and points for special combos. Pyramids are ranked as lasting until a variety of eras across time, including the Middle Ages, the 20^th Century or even the Space Age.

In Quick Game Mode, players challenge themselves as miners by throwing the blocks up as many floors as possible. The goal in this mode is to toss the blocks all the way up to the 100th floor and achieve the highest rank of Mighty Pharaoh. Depending on length of throws, combos and power-ups, players are ranked anywhere from Lowly Slave to Esteemed Vizier before achieving the status of Mighty Pharaoh.
